THAILAND---‘A Study of Buddhust Philosophy and the Creativity in Contemporary Art’ is the pithy title of an exhibition currently running in Gallery 7 at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Centre. The group is comprised of 11 art lecturers from universities and institutes all over Thailand, handpicked by Vichoke Mukdamanee who sports a similarly succinct designation: The National Artist in the Field of Fine Art (Mixed Media). The artists have endeavoured to communicate their own interpretation of Buddhist philosophy through their work and the project seeks to explore, share, discuss and pass on Buddhist ideas through paintings, installations and sculpture in a new and creative way.
