The Christ figure rises over scaffolding in the dome at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
INDIANA---It is impossible to walk under the Byzantine dome of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, see five stories of scaffolding, and artists aloft painting Christian figures upon the ceiling, without thinking of Michelangelo, toiling away in the Sistine Chapel. George Kordi, an iconographer from Athens, and his team of assistants are rendering what will be one of the largest pieces of art in Central Indiana. The job is an expensive one --- will cost well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. More money will be needed to complete the work and likely will come from the church's 500 other families.
