My Last Day of the 12 Days of Christmas 2012

Today was the last of the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25 - Jan. 5), and it's been everything I wanted it to be. It's been wonderful explaining this experiment to friends, and discovering how others experience this time period. It's been exciting planning 12 days of gifting, and it's been 12 joyfilled days of watching Greg's face shine each day no matter the gift. Above all though, and what I most hoped to experience was extended giving for 12 days, a small sampling of the gift of Jesus Christ for 365 days a year. Later this morning, Greg opens his last gift and tomorrow (Epiphany Day) the decorations come down, but unlike previous years it will be done with a sense of satisfaction and not exhaustion. Next year, I want to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas again, and spend the whole year getting ready for it!
