Acclaimed Mosaic Artist Thomas Hunt Work Shown for Limited Time

Mosaic work by Thomas Hunt at Parasol Arts

CALIFORNIA---The mosaic work of Thomas Hunt is on exhibit this month at Parasol Arts in Old Town and can be viewed during Arts Alive! Hunt was born in Fowler, Calif., in 1935 and grew up in Eureka, where he still lives. Having always nurtured an interest in Japanese/Chinese art, Hunt began painting independently while working on his doctorate. In 1957 his artistic mentor, Lucretia Van Horn (1882-1970), encouraged him to explore the medium of mosaic, to which he subsequently devoted himself exclusively. ”When you see the art of Thomas Hunt you can't help but stare,” said gallery owner Brad Curtis.
