San Francisco Gallery Features Islamic Art of Sophia Ahmed Sattar

CALIFORNIA---An exhibition of paintings by emerging artist Sophia Ahmed Sattar opened at the Atelier Gallery as part of the fourth installment of its Emerging Artist Series. In her own words, Sophia Sattar "explores the long history of using calligraphy as ornamentation, in Islamic art and takes this concept further by merging her western education with her religious and cultural sensibility." The exhibition will run until June 30, 2013. [link]
